Acne

Chev........I'm down to single digits also! My face has exploded in what looks like teenage acne, but is probably Rosacea. Does anybody out there know what's good for that. It's embarassing to go to work.

I am a 32 year old female who still has acne. My husband is disgusted with it and I am embarrassed by it. I wash my face twice daily with nuetragena acne prone face wash and use nuetragena spot corrector. I also use nuetragena daily moisturizer with spf 30. I just want smooth pretty skin. Please help.

I am glad you are feeling so good. Even doing the extra shots...I have been feeling pretty good too...knowing I'm on the downside of this. I usually do my shot about 8:30 on Mondays...but I may do it a little earlier tooo...just to get it done with. I'lltry to post and let you know for sure...I would love for ya to send out any positive vibes and prayer.....it's all good. Your husband is sooo considerate..you are very lucky. I know what ya mean about the female stuff, my cycle has been messed up too and I actually had to go to the hosp once cause of such heavy bleeding.Keep in touch and let me know how your recovery post tx is going. I will do the same for you. Now we can enjoy feeling better day by day. Take care,Kim

Hey stranger,,,how are ya? I bet you are happy to be done. I decided to do the 2 extra weeks of meds I have. So my last shot...the big 50, is next Mon, I took my last riba last Sun. I haven't been on the puter much lately...been really putting all my energy in these last days of battle with the dragon..... trying to do everything I can to make this venture a success. My doc has aggreed to do a PCR in 3 mos. So at the end of August...I should have a pretty good notion of whether I beat the dragon or not. I have been focusing on the positive as much as possible lately and looking forward to having my life back. All the wonderful things I will be able to enjoy doing once I have energy and cognitive skills once again.

I was wondering how you are feeling and any differences you are noticing after just stopping the meds? I hope you are well, when will you be getting your first post pcr?

A few weeks ago , I was reading a newsletter that pegasys sends out....well I noticed that they have added a few more side effects to the long lists for both riba and the peg-interferons. Guess what?....a new side effect listed for ribafavrin/rebetol is that it can cause our DNA to mutate....well I have since thought alot about that. I don't plan on having any more children...so I guess It isn't a big deal for my DNA to mutate...right? So.......if it does mutate....does that mean that I might start to grow gills or something...lol.....grandmother...can stay under water indefinately...hahahahaha...or better yet....maybe I'll be able to leap tall buildings with a single bound...like superman...lol....only it would be superMOM.....oh well...maybe SpiderMOM......able to squirt.....I better stop here.

If I beat the dragon...I will have conquered a definate evil...that not only destroys me ...but can also hurt others who come into contact with me...esp. loved ones. I think fighting this battle, winning or losing...makes us all...heroes in a way. To all of us mutated hepper animaniacs!!!!! Take care, Kim

KIM.....Oh, my gosh, girl...I have MISSED you so very much.  I was wondering how you were doing.  I remember that you posted awhile back about thinking of doing 50 shots.....wow... I pray for your SVR.  I had an exact count of 48, so none left over to "think"  about.  How the heck are you??????   My mental outlook really lifted on my last day.  I even moved the experience up a few hours to get it over with.  My last ribas were yesterday.  My husband took this week off from work (vacation) to be with me during  my last week of the tx.....He was standing with me when I took my last two pills...he was so cute. (always so supporive).   I think I will try to get tested at 3 months as well.  I try not to think about it though, I am just soooooooo glad that tx is OVER.  Your comments about the additional sx were interesting.  I do know that tx has really messed up my "womanly cycle" badly....so that information sure does make sense to me. (this is my third try at tx, so I have had some really strange monthly things)....You are so descriptive, I can actually imagine you in a Spider Woman or Super Woman costume.....I think "super" woman is more you though. :>)   AS far as how I am feeling after tx....pretty dang good.  I did not lose weight during tx...I remained the same even though I did not eat much.....Now, I have lost a little....my jeans fit great, and my "bloated" feeling left.  I almost feel normal already....still fatigued....but happy to get on with life.  You are right....we are all winners no matter what.  Fighting this battle makes us all heros.....I really am so glad to see you again....I AM ROOTING FOR YOU ON MONDAY TOO....Keep me posted......I would love to know your exact time of shot so that I can "connect" with you during that time in spirit and energy..............yahooo you are almost there.............You are a true trooper......LOVE TO YOU.....

I do have occasional flare-ups on my left cheek, it all started one month before I was dx with HepC (Oct 2002). Dermatologist I saw said there is some inflammation under the skin (did bx). Since then, I tried ROSASOL and NORITATE creams - they didn't work for me. Then I was given BETADERM cream (Bethamethasone valerate 0.1%) for rashes during tx and this is what magically helps me to control flare-ups. Hope it helps!

Ellissg:  Congrats on the single digit Countdown!!!!!  I am cheering you on to the finish line!!!!!  Regarding the bumps on your face have you asked your Dr about it?  I think it is a sx, so someone will probably post some good information for you.  Yeah!!!!! you are counting down.....it will be over soon.

CHEV:  I may have missed one of your posts so I will ask now.  Did you ever have your Dr appt about your swollen lympth nodes?  If so, what did your Dr say?  I hope you are doing well.  I miss you!!!!    I have been sending out good and positive vibes for you, and praying you are well.  I know that on my final single digit countdown....I was excited that the finish line was getting closer, but it seems that my sx sometimes were more magnified as well....and the "blues" still came and got me....HANG IN THERE.......Love ya
