Virus cleanup

This is probably a stupid question - but posting anyway.

Is purification of blood ever tried for eliminating Hepatits B virus ?

Let us say a patient is connect "blood purifying machine" and let the blood be subjected to "any blood borne virus killing processes" - and send the purified blood back into action.

Is this a possibility - any researchers/knowledgeable sources in this forum ??

It's a good question.  The answer is, no such techonology.  A cure for HepB would require the HBV's cccDNA be totally eliminated from your liver cells.  cccDNA is not in your blood.

But I know of a situation where people were infected by a virus that sped up their aging process.  It was a tough virus to beat but they beat it by using the transportor.  While in a suspended stated, they removed the foreign invaders, then reconstituted the sequencing, thus curing those infected.  But you need Captain Picard's guidance for that.
