About 20% of pregnant women experience itching during pregnancy. Usually, women feel itchy in the abdomen. But red, itchy palms and soles of the feet and chafing between the thighs are also common complaints.
You may also develop rashes in your groin or under your breasts.
Pregnancy hormones and stretching skin are probably to blame for most of your discomfort. The rashes are caused by excess weight gain and the sweat that gathers in those areas.
Usually, the itchy feeling goes away after delivery.
Call your healthcare provider if symptoms don't improve after a week of self-care.
