Wild Pacific Sardines

Pacific sardines come from the West Coast of the US as well as Canada and Mexico, and are available both canned and fresh. Find fresh, pre-cleaned sardines at the seafood counter, then throw them whole on the grill and finish with a squeeze of lemon. The bones are easy to remove once cooked; any tiny ones remaining are edible and offer a dose of calcium, so baby won’t sap your stores to strengthen its own growing bones.
