Neck pain

Hi everyone, the past 2 days have been really rough and big increase in pain so haven't been online much. Took a lyrica last night around 8:00 pm and fell asleep, got up this morning doing much better and less pain. Had my PD appt today too. Doc said to very slowly increase the lyrica and that had been what I was doing, doc was glad of that and gave me a way to do it. He said take 50 mg at night and 25 mg during the day. Now I had been taking 25 mg at night only. Hope the 50 will help me even more with the nerve pain. I'm going to stay on the percocet every 4-6 hrs. Got a rx for zanaflex to take as needed since I had only the samples the doc gave me a few weeks ago. I am going to have an MRI done soon to see what is going on with my neck.

walking

I recently started walking to see that might help with the pain but not sure if I am doing more harm than good. The last few times I walked, as I slowed down my pace my neck and shoulder was really giving me fits. Seems to get better a few hours later though. This burning in my shoulder just doesn't want to let up.

fusion

The beginning of 2010 I had a cervical fusion at the C4/5 and 5/6 after suffering from neck and arm/hand pain for years. I also have DDD and spinal stenosis. After my surgery I had significant relief from the nerve pain I had in my left arm and hand pre-surgery. The only problem is a few months later I started having the pain again and this time I had horrible shoulder blade pain mixed in. Complained to my surgeon about the pain but all he tells me is that the X-rays are looking good :( Well, I don't feel so good. I really had no choice but to have the surgery as I had been told by 3 different orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons that if I did not have the surgery ASAP, the slightest slip or accident could paralyze me for life. I am glad I had the surgery because of that one reason. Also, the arm pain is less than before the surgery. But as I said, I am still having a lot of pain since the surgery. More later
