Bad Day

This day was going great. I made plans with a friend I haven't seen in over a year, I had a great day at work, I went shopping with my mom... But that's when it got bad.

Pulling into the parking lot, I noticed a weird noise coming from the passenger side of my car. I went to the parkade, got out and looked at my tire. Right in the top, there was a screw going straight in. I couldn't hear any air hissing, so I went upstairs to meet my mom. When I told her, she went to look at it. My tire was already obviously low. She called AMA for me, and they said it could be up to a 3 hour wait. That meant 9:00pm when the mall was closing. We walked around, my boyfriend met up with us, and then my mom left. Ten minutes after she left, the AMA guy called to ask where my car was. We went to meet up with him... He does his thing, changes my tire, tries to leave without inflating my spare. When my boyfriend tells him he needs to fill it, he's a little grumpy, but does it. Then we leave. I get 100 metres down before I park again because it's not full enough. Steven has to flag the guy down to come fill the tire, but he decides that Steven can do it instead. So he hands him the compressor, tells him where the switch is, and goes back to his truck. We were with this "car" guy for 40 minutes, and my tire still isn't properly inflated.

After all that, we went back to Steven's house so I could take his car home since I work tomorrow and he doesn't. First of all, I love MY car. It's a 2001 Honda Civic. It's small, it's cute, and I love it. Steven's car is a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. It's long, it's wide, and I hate it. I've driven his car only twice before tonight, and I am NOT comfortable in that car. UGH.

I guess it doesn't matter. Steven is going to take my tire to be fixed tomorrow and he's going to book an appointment for me to have two new tires put on since I need new ones anyways.

The day wasn't really that bad, I guess. It just felt like a lot of crap went down. Lol.

Breakfast:
    - 2 hard boiled eggs
    - 20 green seedless grapes
    - 16 oz black tea

Lunch:
    - 2 poached eggs
    - 1 large orange (3" diameter)
    - 16 oz green tea

Dinner:
    - Chicken and cheese quesadilla
    - 16 oz white tea

The Couch-to-5K ® Running Plan

Session one:
Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.

What I did:
4:30 warmup walk, 60 seconds jogging, 90 seconds walking, 60 seconds jogging, 11:30 minutes walking.

I wanted to get through the whole session as it's outlined, but I've NEVER done any extended running/jogging, so I realize that I'm going to need to create my own program that works me up to this program. I think part of the problem is that I wore my Reebok Easytone shoes and I've only worn them twice before. I wound up with a huge leg cramp and wasn't sure if I could even walk he rest of the way. (Obviously, I did.)

Hopefully tomorrow I can get out for a 20 minute quick walk and continue to do that until I've built up enough stamina and endurance to actually jog some.

Months and months and months ago I found a 9 week jogging/running program online. It's called "The Couch-to-5K ® Running Plan". I saved it to my bookmarks because I was interested in it and it seems really good for beginners. It breaks the sessions down into distance or time depending on which you'll be using, and there are three workouts a week.

Today, I've decided to take on the running plan. Tomorrow will be my first day, so we'll see how it goes. I plan to post in here every day that I get out for a run just so I can see how it progressed.
