One part of me just wants to tell you everything
One part just needs the quiet
And if Im lonely here, Im lonely here
And on the telephone
You offer reassurance

I will not take these things for granted

How can I hold the part of me that only you can carry
It needs a strength I havent found
But if its frightening, Ill bear the cold
And on the telephone
You offer warm asylum

Im listening
Flowers in the garden
Laughter in the hall
Children in the park
I will not take these things for granted
Anymore

To crawl inside the wire and feel something near me
To feel this accepting
That it is lonely here, but not alone
And on the telephone
You offer visions dancing

Im listening
Music in the bedroom
Laughter in the hall
Dive into the ocean
Singing by the fire
Running through the forest
And standing in the wind
In rolling canyons

I will not take these things for granted

Calling all Gardeners & Folks with Green Thumbs. . .

Sep 10, 2008 - 1 comments

I teach in a classroom that has no windows. . .
the school is built like a mall, and the inside rooms are devoid of any natural light at all, only the florescent lights overhead.
Are there any plants at all that will survive in such conditions?
Any special way I need to take care of said plants?
My thumb isn't the greenest.
:)

thanks!!

Duck & Cover

I love this song, the lyrics are so fitting for what a lot of us go through on a saily basis.  It always reminds me to be grateful & to remember that everything does turn out the way it should in the end.

Duck & Cover

Someone’s in the backyard banging on the door
Daddy’s gone away he’s coming back no more
His baby’s curled up on a stranger’s floor
Momma’s thinking family dinners weren’t too much to ask for

Everybody here’s got a story to tell
Everybody’s been through their own hell
Nothing too special about getting hurt
But getting over it, now that takes the work

One way or the other we’ll all need each other
Nothing’s gonna turn out the way you thought it would
But friends and lovers don’t you duck and cover
‘Cause everything turns out the way it should

Blessed are the humble, blessed are the weak
Blessed are the hungry, blessed are the meek
Blessed are the ones on the other side
And blessed are we just for being alive

One day I stopped wanting anything at all
The heavens opened up like a waterfall
No use in worrying about when it ends
Just for now be thankful for what I get

One way or another a man’s gonna suffer
Nothing’s gonna turn out the way you wanted it
But friends and lovers don’t you duck and cover
‘Cause everything turns out the way it should in the end

Seems like life is a palindrome
Cry when you die, cry when you’re born
In between it’s all about the ups and downs
Add them all together they’ll cancel each other out

One way or another, one way or another
You won’t get what you wanted but you’ll get enough for sure
One way or another, the winter pays for the summer
Won’t get what you wanted but what you got’ll be good

Someone’s in the backyard banging on the door
Daddy’s gone away he’s coming back no more
His baby’s curled up on a stranger’s floor
Momma’s thinking happy endings weren’t too much to ask for
