Here is the answer to this question.
In order to lose weight, you have to subtract calories.  Safe weight loss is 1-2 lbs/week, so in order to lose 1 lb/week, you'd have to drop 500 calories from your BMR each day (1 lb is equal to 3500 calories, so 500 calories X 7 days = 3500 calories or 1 lb).  OR you can drop 250 calories from your diet and increase exercise to use an additional 250 calories.

Changing up calorie counts and exercises will help prevent plateau.

Seem to be stuck at 172 lbs. Can't figure out why weight isn't declining anymore. Workouts remain the same, morning walking has picked up a tad, and caloric intake hasn't increased.

I hope this isn't as low as I can go, although Dr VanCise has said 170 lbs would be about right for me.

Went  out for Mothers Day dinner to an Italian restaurant. Ordered the cioppino (seafood) dinner. About half way thru, started feeling sick in stomach. Thought black coffee would settle stomach down. Didn't work. Drove home, took a couple antacid (Tums) pills, that seemed to settle stomach down. About 11pm, started having stomach cramp and diarrhea. This continued until midnight when I finally went to bed. No further discomfort during the night. Next morning, I checked weight on home scale. No change since previous day.
