July 9, 2008:  Follow Up appointment

Jul 09, 2008 - 11 comments

So I saw my GP this afternoon & he said everything looked great on my scan.  He pushed on my stomach and it hurt really bad so he showed me on the scan where it was hurting and there was a ton of backed up waste in the areas.  I always thought I was semi-regular, but not the case.  I am beyond thankful for the news as I was certain something was seriously wrong but now I've been given a second chance.  Thank you for everyone's support here... I am going to continue to be apart of the forums I can help in.

July 3rd: Pelvic CT scan today

ct scan

Today I went for my pelvic CT scan... not too bad, but it was nerve racking since I've never had it done before.  Also, I am not a fan of needles but even more so things going INTO my body - very skeptical of the drug companies, but everything went smooth.  I should have my results on or before Tuesday - I'm a little nervous, but the scan is at least over and an answer is coming soon.  The technician basically refused to comment on what she saw except she did say she didnt see anything large or obvious - hopefully that is a good sign.

July 2nd: Called CTC of America

Jul 02, 2008 - 1 comments

I saw a commercial for CTC and wondered what they did for people who were uninsured - so the guy said that if you are uninsured you need $125,000 down with $50,000 in reserves at all times.  Wow - compare that to free treatment in other countrys and then tell me we live in the best place in the world.  Everyone is left to fend for themselves here regardless of reasons... and this would be why we are more likely to die younger than in other countries - we are a greedy country who believes in the all-mighty dollar.  Sure, good doctors, but if you cant pay to see them then what good are they really?

July 1st :  CT scan Questions

I had a few questions that maybe people out there could have the answers too:

If I have a lot of pain is it more likely that the cyst is solid?

Has anyone ever had a reaction to the Iodine IV for a CT scan?

What does the ingested Iodine taste like?  Any tricks?

Will the doctor conducting the test be able to answer any questions during or after the test?

OK - Thursday is my test, so hopefully I can breath easier with the results.
