Finally, somewhat of an answer

May 01, 2010 - 2 comments

Well all of that weird abdominal pain I was having turned out not to be any kind of kidney stone, infection, or failure of any sort, nor was it any kind of gallbladder problem (although I am not convinced my gallbladder won't turn out to be a problem for me one day).  I was finally sent to a competent OB-GYN who, in five minutes, said what I have been saying for the past four years- that there's a good chance that I have endometriosis!  I have a laparoscopy scheduled in a few weeks during which they are going to remove an apparently significant cyst and anything else they might find.  I very much like this doctor.  She said she doesn't care what it takes, she is going to figure out what is causing this pain.  The first day I saw her, she even told me not to thank her until she made me better.  =0)

Oh well... Happy New Year

Well it looks like I was way off on my goal.  I don't think I've been able to break 105 this entire time.  Moral of the story: these pills suck.  And they won't take me off of them because they feel that my weight loss issues are a hormonal problem setting off the drug side effect.  So they'd rather deal with the hormones.  Yay for a new problem to deal with in 2010!  Starting early this year. =0p

Ick... Sick

I think this one can be attributed to the hacking cough I've had for almost three weeks now.  Bleh.  I woke up with a headache, but it wasn't quite the usual intense migraine.  It just felt like pressure all on the top front of my head.  I must have been coughing all night... thankfully I slept through most of it.  Cough medicine doesn't seem to be helping, but the doctor doesn't want to see me yet because I haven't had a fever and I'm not wheezing.  Great.  We'll just let it progress to bronchitis again, then we'll do something about it.  =0/

Dead end?

I went back to the neurologist yesterday for my 3-month eval and he FINALLY admitted that the topamax may be, in part, responsible for what's going on with me.  Since the colonoscopy I haven't been able to break 102lbs.  I am exhausted all of the time, I'm dizzy, and my headaches are coming back more than ever.  I had to come home from work today because I was so dizzy I felt like I had a good buzz on.  I didn't even want to hold the kids.  That is not normal.  Something needs to be done now.

I called the GI doctor back for the results of the last round of tests they did (thyroid tests and the results of the biopsies from the colonoscopy), and everything was normal.  I just don't know where to look anymore, and I don't think they do either.
