Can't Go Back

I made the mistake of buying a gift for my ex-wife and inviting her over to get it. Even though we have been divorced for nearly a year, she told me she still has feelings for me and that me buying her things is only toying with her emotions, which is really the last thing I had intended. But I guess being the nice guy has gotten me into trouble and has resulted in someone's pain once again. I can't win.
