I have been home for 4 days now after surgery. I have been walking alot. Using a walker. The more I get up and walk, the better I feel and less pain I have. The day after I got home, my husband was admitted to the hospital because of a bowl blockage. He is being released today. I have been home alone while he has been gone. I had his sister and his mom who live in the same appartment complex come to check on me and go to the store for me. I had a few neighbors come and sit with me and walk with me. I have been doing most things on my own and it has helped me to recover faster. The more you sit and do nothing the longer it takes to get your self back up and going. Everything has to be baby steps, but pretty soon everything gets easier. Don't get me wrong, I am still sore from the top of my head to the middle of my back and I am still taking pain meds, but it doesn't hurt me to get out of bed anymore and I do not sleep all day. I do however have a problem falling asleep and staying asleep. So far I would have to say that even with the pain of this surgery is well worth getting if you have the symptoms that were as bad as mine that made me almost lose my job because I became sicker than the patients I took care of.
