Testing Day

test day

Recently I got my first mammogram, which was a "smashing success". Meaning - after the second mammogram and ultrasound, the radiologist determined there is an irregular mass in my right breast which my doctor told me was a "non-benign" mass and I needed to get a vacuum assisted core biopsy, which is today. He said not to worry, because 95% of the people who get these tests come back negative. My math geek brain, of course, translated that to "1 in 20! Those odds suck!".

Anywho, I called the doctors office yesterday to ask the girls to look up what BIRADS rating I had, since the doctor didn't share that with me (probably a good idea). It is a 4c, which research tells me means either "expect malignancy" or that 4 isn't well divided and don't worry about it until the biopsy is done. I'm choosing to stick with the second, though my brain keeps flashing back to the first.
