Chronic Pain

intractable pain disease

I just discovered something liberating, and scary, in one fell swoop.

During the last 3 to 5 years I've had pain flares that sent my heart rate soaring, made me sweat and prevented my continuing any task until they passed. I'd come to believe, secretly of course, that a flare like this would eventually take my life in a blinding flash of pain accompanied by cardiac arrest.

I found a site, today, that may describe what is really going on with my pain, providing a more accurate diagnosis that goes beyond "simple" chronic pain.

Intractable Pain Syndrome or Intractable Pain Disease may be what I am suffering with, and may be what many others are actually dealing with. Either way, it is good information for anyone with pain that causes other changes when it hits.
