phone call from hospital today

May 18, 2010 - 7 comments

Today i received a phone call from my consultants secretary. she told me that the lab report suggest borderline cancer, epithelial tumor. No other treatment required but 3 monthly scans for 6 mths then 6 monthly for another 12 mths. looking on the internet this suggest its stage 1, im concerned no other  treatment is needed, and why it has taken till now to be told and how come this wasn't seen when they were in there. Perhaps its not always seen, obviously not in my case. Anyone have any info on this.

Thanks ska4life, i feel ok about it actually weird but i feel that it's my lucky day to have had it caught. Ive been reading about this and appaerently it's not as common and most women dont have follow on treatment in this situation, Ca125's taken regularly and scans and thats it. My CA125 as always been around 27 - 29, so its ok. My only concern is why wasnt it seen when they was in and has only been told to me by lab report. thanks for your note and how are you feeling these days , are you getting there, have you got some lovely sunshine in Ireland we have in Wales .

Hi Debbie!  I'm so sorry to hear your news, but I am also so THANKFUL that it is a stage 1 and no other treatment is necessary.  I don't think they say anything because it is a stage1 which means it was contained in the ovary.  Your faith is AMAZING!!  You are an inspiration to me too.  I think sometimes when we look stuff up on the computer, it gives us worst case scenario.  You WILL fight this and be rid of it.  God is going to bless you beyond belief!  Did they take both ovaries or just one?  That may be something you want to discuss with your doctor at your post-op.  We are here when you need us.  Love ya!  Kasie

Hi Kasie, yeah ive read that , it was maybe cos it was contained. I only had the one ovary removed because they failed to get to the other , because my bowel op last year, it had attached it self too much. They freed the right ovary and tube to take away and thought they had put my inside through anough at the time. But yes it is something i will be asking now.
You are all an inspiration, thats what keeps us all going. Thanks for your support love ya Debs x
