OFF BEDREST UPDATE WOOHOO

I will be 36 weeks on Sunday so I am offically off bedrest, anti contraction meds, and pelvic rest as of Monday.
Still dialated to just under 2cm (same as 5 days ago), but I am now about 90% effaced.  It will be interesting to see what next week will hold when I have nothing holding nature back.
Baby is measuring huge... she was shocked at my uterus height compared to last week.  Gained 2lbs in one week says she wouldn't be surprised if most of it is the baby.  She hopes I deliver 2-3 weeks early if I am not going by 38 weeks says she can strip my membranes.  Starting to get excited =)

Wow! Before this month is halfway out you are going to have a baby! I am so super excited for you! Effacement is the hardest part or labor and you are 90% there! YAY! If you are 100% effaced then it is going to be so easy for you to dilate! I really hope that you go on your own and I bet your baby is going to be a big one but I hope still small enough for a vaginal delivery =) **Fingers Crossed**

Oh ya... I give you a week!! LOL That baby has wanted to come out so bad so many times! Good luck!!

I know I hope I can do this vaginally and not have a c-section. I couldn't believe I am that effaced already. I have had no pain maybe a little twinge here and there, tightening from contractions (not painful) but haven't felt hardly any discomfort. I am super excited. I hope he waits until week after next. My doc is on vacay until the 11th. All of the ladies from her practice are great, but I really would like her to deliver. How are you ladies feeling?

WOW!!! You are getting so close Heather. You and hubby must be so excited. I know I am sure getting antsy to meet my little one. I hope your little guy can wait until your doc is back from vacation.

Oh Heather, I am so excited for you. Thank goodness the nightmare is over, you are off bed rest, and everything is going 80 mph. I will pray for you so you don't have to have a c-section. I'm sensing this will be a July baby. I can't wait to see pictures of him. You'd better keep working on the nursery FAST!! :-)

I wonder at which point into your pregnancy the doctors start checking for effacement. Maybe it is relative and depends only on the patient. I have no idea where I'm at right now. All I know is they checked my cervix when I was 29 weeks I think, and it was long, long closed. I'll be 33 weeks tomorrow. When does effacement start? I guess I should post this on the forum :-)

I know she just checks me weekly because I have contractions ALL the time, so she just wants to see what, if any progress they make. If you ask to be checked I am sure they will =)

Nursery is being worked on as we speak. I am ready to stop taking the meds now... they make me swell and it's 90-100 here this weekend. We don't have AC because weather is typically around 60-70 degrees pretty much year round. Cankles here I come...lol.

Oh my gosh! I can't believe you don't have an a/c! You are a brave woman!

Haha Nicki I live in the Bay Area near SF it's typically very mild weather (if it's warm always a cold breeze from the water). If we go over 70 degrees everyone acts like it's sooo... hot haha. It's not like Southern CA and I know it is scorching there in Vegas... most people don't have AC here because we would use it like twice a year. On those super hot days all of the Targets, Walmarts, ect sell out of fans so quick LOL.

I believe it! LOL! If I didn't have to use the a/c then I would have the windows open all of the time! I love the fresh air blowing through the house! I miss it and in FL in the winter and spring (before it gets too hot) you can smell all of the orange blossoms and fresh cut grass! UGH I miss it! I sleep with a fan on even though my upstairs a/c is set to 74 upstairs... It is around the 90's here at night and I try to stay inside as much as possible (I swear I forget what the outside of my house looks like sometimes) because even walking around in a store makes me feel like I am going to pass out from getting overheated =)

With my other kids, they started checking for dialation at 36 weeks. Effacement, thinning and dialating can begin early and go very slowly or you can have nothing happening and be in labor a day later.

Well maybe that's what will happen to me...since the last time they checked my cervix was closed and long....
I hope my cervix will start to efface soon, maybe around 35 weeks?. I mean, I'm 33 weeks and I would hate to go over my due date. Ugh...
