Stains!!! Baby bump catch all

Jul 05, 2010 - 10 comments

I have always worn white shirts. I've never had a problem with getting food or anything else on my shirts. Since I started getting a bump around 13-14 weeks I have used more SHOUT than I have ever used. I am constantly finding spots on my shirts.  I'm afraid to wear white now. I'm constantly looking down at my shirt to make sure there's nothing on it.

Anyone else having this problem?

its funny you say this...i have to agree with you...the bigger the bump gets the more food that ends up on my shirts...i find myself using paper towels as bibs when eating messy things....

I don't understand why it is happening now. I have never had this problem with dripping food. I never had stains on my pants which if I didn't have my bump it would land in my lap right? So why now?

I am right there with you! I drop anything and everything on me no matter how hard I try to avoid it! Every single time I eat anything! I have started wearing dark colors (hubby's t-shirts of course because none of mine fit!) and it doesn't seem to matter! I don't wear white at all unless I know I'm not going to eat anything relatively soon!

Yes, it's like we get really sloppy when we're pregnant. Maybe it's preperation for baby. I don't know what it is about baby spit-up but it leaves stains on anything white.

I know what you mean I am constantly having food drop onto my baby bump and I didnt have the problem before I was pregnant. I guess its just one of those things that happen when your pregnant b/c you are more clumsy and less sure. IDK its crazy though. I guess we will just have to be more careful.

I read this, laughed, then went downstairs to fix lunch.  Two minutes later I had bbq sauce on my white shirt.  I was slicing left-over grilled chicken for sandwiches and -whoops- somehow my belly wound up in the way.  In my experience, treating spots is a big part of motherhood so it's good to get some practice in ahead of time!
I am getting to the point where I have to be really careful not to knock things off the counters too.

You know this weekend I said the samething. Even if the shirt isn't white I always manage to spill something. Then if it falls below my belly I can't see it until I look in the mirror.

Chinesebones- LOL thanks for making me laugh.

Every time I cook and fix things in the kitchen I have started to put my hand on my belly before I lean up against the counter to grab something out of the cabinet.

Yeah it doesn't matter what color shirt I have on. It just seems that I notice it more on my white shirts. Usually I don't notice the stain until I am changing at night. So I have no idea how long I've been walking around with a spot on my shirt.

Yeah unfortunately i'm 14 weeks now and having the same problem, maybe its to prepare us for never being able to wear white shirts and not get anything on them once the baby comes. i know i can't wear anything white around my 19 month old thats for sure haha
