So I had my baby shower yesterday afternoon and I have to say that I am pretty impressed with how much effort everyone put into it. Because I'm on bed rest I'm not really allowed to do anything and so everyone came up with last minute alternate ideas to make the party special and fun without me moving around very much (even though I tried but they ended up duct taping me to my chair). I also got almost everything that I need for baby which is a huge weight off of my back. I wasn't planning to go onto maternity leave until literally when I had the baby so having to go onto it 2 months early has really hurt my finances. But now all I need is a infant travel system and I should be good and DH already has it down to buy that in a week or two.
Anyways for those of you curious here is a list of what I got:
Mattress for the crib
Video baby moniter w/ software to put onto my computer so I can view the baby when I'm at work or out and about via computer or cell phone. Ha its like a nanny cam!
Handheld breastfeeding timer that times how long its been since I last changed her diaper, feed her, how long she's been sleeping/awake, it has a button to glow when its dark and a switch to tell me which boob is next. Pretty cool!
2 Bornfree glass bottle gift sets
Vibration machine with music to place on crib/car seat/bassinet to help baby sleep
Aveeno soap and lotion
Head & body support pad for the car seat
About 50+ newborn-1 year outfits, hats, socks, mittens, shoes
Lots or recieving blankets, crib sheets, and bassinet sheets
Lots of diapers and wipes
Containers of diaper rash ointment and nipple cream for breastfeeding
Toys for the baby to chew on and rattle when she gets a little older
a whole medical kit for my whoo-ha after I deliver
and probably some things I'm forgetting but you get the point. Anyways I'm just feeling really relieved right now since I don't really have to stress out about not having everything anymore and I think maybe I'll wash the baby clothes and stuff tonight so that I can pack my hospital bag tomorrow. I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday and hopefully they will take me off bed rest but we'll just have to see.
