On April 18 when I visited the nephrologist for the first time I weighed 163 pounds.  This week, August 18, my weight was down to 142.2 pounds . . . I lost about five pounds a month!  I will not need to visit the nephrologist for another year.  Also, the biopsy is not needed at this time.  The doctor said I am at an ideal weight for my height.  I now can do 40-50 situps at one time.

For approximately six weeks (June 20-Aug 4) I was employed as a waitress which had me working a 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. shift (sometimes my shifts were longer because our restaurant was busy and the sidework had to be completed).  I would eat before my shift and then not again until I had slept.  I would not drink soda during my shift.  I usually drank ice water.  I only remember having one soda on my last shift so that I could make it through the night.  That was a 13 hour shift.  At home I wrote my second book so I had some long days because I had a 45 minute commute to work.
