So I went to my appointment today knowing that we would figure out the day that I would have my c-section. The ultrasound went well but the one babies amniotic fluid was very low. So low that the biggest pocket that she could find was only 2x2. I havent felt her much lately and she said it was because she has no place to go and cant move around freely because of the low fluid. Also, her cord is still showing resistance and seems to be worse than it was last time. I knew that this meant they would take my twins soon.
Just an update: At my last u/s 2 weeks ago the babies were measuring Baby A 2.6 lbs and Baby B 3.9 lbs. At todays appt they measured Baby A 2.12 lbs and Baby B 4.14 lbs. The doctor is concerned because still the little one is getting further behind. This made her come to the conclusion that I will have my c-section THIS SUNDAY!! It's crazy because it's only 3 days away. The doc is thinking that we are the point where the little one will be healthier on the outside than inside my belly. It s&%$ to think that I will be discharged and will have to leave my little ones there in the NICU next week but I know it will be for the best. I was given a steroid shot today and will also get one tomorrow to try and strengthen their lungs before delivery. I hope and pray that all goes well!!!

OMG OMG!!! This SUNDAY, that's so soon but it def sounds like the best decision for Baby A... I'm sure she'll really start thriving on the outside! I'm so excited for you and can't wait to see some pics of Taylor and Madison! I know it'll be hard leaving them in the NICU, but on a positive note at least you don't have other children to care for and you can be by the twins side every day, and before you know it they will be home with you. What an awesome Christmas present!! Make sure you get as much rest as possible before Sunday, and I will be thinking of and praying for you, I'm sure everything will go well, sounds like your in really good hands xoxo

Hello lil_lady25, i am new here but have been reading your journey. i just wanted to wish you luck for the Sunday. I know you must be very anxious and excited for your best Christmas gift. Done worry you will be fine take good care of you and post your girls pics as soon as you have them. best wishes !
Thank you so much ladies for the love and support. As I said I am soooo very nervous but the doctors dont seem very concerned and believe that all will be fine with the babies. I took a tour of the NICU and they said that 33 weeks along was great and that right now they were full of 28 week babies. So that made me feel a bit more confident! I just cant wait to meet them and begin our lives together. I will make sure and post some pics for you ladies. Thanks for being such a great group of woman!!
Praying for you and will be thinking about you and Eric Sunday =) Those babies will be in great hands and hopefully wont have to be in the NICU too long before they get to go home with you. Enjoy every second =) I can't wait to see pics!!!
Oh yeah so did Baby A lose weight then??? I can't believe Lyla was bigger than that at my 26 week visit (although she is measuring big).

Best Christmas gift ever!! Please let me know if you need anything at all. If you want you can give Eric my # to text me afterwards at some point and I can update our group too. You are going to do GREAT and I bet the girls will do great too :). You will be able to spend so much time with them in the NICU I'm sure they will let you nurse or at least tube feed after pumping. And hold them lots too which actually will help them thrive, gain weight, regulate body temp all of that from skin to skin contact with you or your hubby. This has been an amazing journey and I am so proud of you. You are so brave and have taken everything in stride no matter what life has thrown at you. If you need anything at all please know that I am here for you and your husband! Congrats and best of wishes for Sunday!!!
Thanks girls, I appreciate that. No, she didn't lose weight but she had only gained 6 ounces in 2 weeks while her sister gained 1 1/2 in the same time period. She keeps getting further behind and is only measuring 29 weeks while the other is right on track at 33 weeks. Thankfully you are all probably right and that they will be in great hands. I'm just hoping she doesn't have any additional health issues and is just petitie :)

I had to leave my little guy in NICU, and I honestly cannot say enough about how wonderful the NICU staff is. It was so hard to check out of the hospital knowing he was there, but the nurses are amazing. I remember thinking that if it was impossible for him to be with my husband and I ,this was the next best place. They took such loving care and to this day, form time to time I drop in with him and say hello. Of course, now you would never know he was so very tiny. It doesn't take them long to catch up.
I know it will be the same with your two precious girls. You can sleep tight momma, knowing they will be in wonderful hands. And of course, being a NICU, you can be there often...visiting rules to not apply to mothers. They (and you) are going to do great!!! It's hard to leave them there, but you are right, best place for them. And before you know it, they will be two little chunky monkeys, and you will have a hard time remembering that they were so tiny!!!
