first off just want to say thanks for commenting on my question, I don't take any medication right now except xanex which is pretty much just a crutch for me. (i'm taking like a half of pill of .05 maybe once a day. not always tho....i'm actually more scared to take medication then i am to just go thru an "attack"...weird i know. lol)  I do go see a wonderful psychologist who I really like alot and we have been trying to work thru this to see if I can basically learn how to retrain my brain and find out what exactly it is that is triggering these attacks. Panic attacks are all Fear Based...so you have to really know what it is that your afraid of...For me it is definately Death. I think when a Symptom hits me, its Super easy for me to start freaking out and go into a full blown Panic, hitting up my Doctors office, the urgent care and the ER....It all comes down to me being scared that something is wrong with my health and I'm going to die. It doesn't help that I am also a single mother of a baby girl that just turn 5 last week. I look at her and I get worse thinking "I can't die, cuz she needs me, I'm all she has".....anyways, on to your question, it's funny you mention the "throat" thing tho. It seems like for me when an "attack" is coming on for me, it starts for me with the shortness of breathe, then my throat starts to feel weird and then i get other symptoms that follow. so your not alone. i have never actually felt a lump in my throat but it definately does not feel normal when it happens. My biggest concern right now for me was the Hot feeling in my head and severe head pain for the last five days, have u actually felt that before? or just the Icy/Hot all over feeling you mentioned? Alright, well good luck to u as well. Talk to u soon.Thanks.
Oh, also, just a little f.y.i. ---- if your having an "attack", your body can only take so much. so typically if you don't take any on the spot medication for it, just know that it will only last like 30 mins, 45 max. Your body couldn't handle being in that "Fight or Flight" mode for any longer. This is stuff I have been having to learn and you should know that in your mind so that way you don't go into a bigger panic about it. Just know it will end. :)

Has anyone tried or heard of 5-HTP OC? I use this for anxiety issues and depression. I started taking it for the Fibromyaliga.

I wish everyone well.

I also have severe panic attacks and end up at urgent care and the ER al the time.I know I'm only having a panic attack but the way it makes me feel is terrifying and I feel better if there are drs around. It's embarrasing.I find it amazing that the human body can play such tricks on you.I went 4 months without an attack and then they started up again about 2 weeks ago. With a wonderful new symptom. My throat gets this big lump in it and them im afraid it's going to close up and I'm going to die.All of my panic attacks are random, unless I have to take new medication, then I send myself into an instant attack thinking about having a bad reaction. It *****!!

well i have had anxiety and panic attacks for 8 years now and i totally disagree with 2youngtobegoingcrazy......panic attacks can last much longer than that 30 minz to 45 minz....the best thing i have found for them is medication since i have tryed everything else. i take a small dose of kolonopin and it takes the edge off. i would rather feel a lil bit tierd from that medication then feel like....i'm going to die, palms sweaty, heart racing out of my chest, dizzy, chest pains, lump in throat, feeling like im here but im not..i'm sure you get the picture, or i mean if you have someone to talk to just so you can vent would be helpful, because panic attacks can take over your life if you let them. you can start avoiding people and certain places, or even leaving your house. It's bad i know, if your aginst taking medication i would say make an appt to see a counsoler and go from there. best of luck to you all <3

I have anxiety and so does my 14 year old son.  He was diagnosed at 8.  Dr's decided meds were not the answer but didn't offer much else to cope with it so I did hours...years of research to develop methods that help him.  Also found relief myself and have since developed a program for kids to help them too.  Cogitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is the best long term solution I have found.  What I did for my son was teach him basic techniques that helped him in the "moments" of anxiety and then broadened that to help with preventing the attacks.  Something as simple as deep breathing really works!!  It helps to readjust brain chemistry!  I could write a book because I find so many people who get so little relief.  For myself, I use meditation, altering thought patterns and a host of other techniques and have found great relief.  It's hard work sometimes but we are both managing it quite well now.  Check out sites for meditation, reiki and CBT to find out more.  Don't want to write my book here! :)
