Baking Soda Gender Test

Have anyone heard about the baking soda gender test? I just read about it in another site. It says that you put a teaspoon of baking soda in a cup and then pee on it, if if it fizzles is a boy and if it doesnt is a girl. The "science" behind it is that the acidity on you urine makes the baking soda fizzle, and if you're pregnant with a boy is more acid.

I dont know, just curious about it and wanted to see if anyone has heard about it?

I heard about it on the other site! I tried it- but I am not pg enough to be able to tell by sono- but it fizzed!

I did pee on the baking soda it diddent sizzle but I can't tell you if it worked or not because I lost my baby before my gender u/s .

maybe ask someone who knows the sex of their baby to pee on some and let you know :)

PLZ let me no how that turns out! I'm SO anxious to know! hehe

I fizzed and I am hoping for boys- so I hope it is right- maybe we can post a poll in one of the areas where the women already would know the gender- like 'due in aug 2011' hmmmmm it is science!

I posted it on my mood lol asking it anyone who knew was willing to test the theory hehe

Hello everyone, I did it, just for fun and it didn't fizzle, last week I went for the 18wk anatomy scan an they told me it was a girl! I'm going for another ultrasound at 24wks hoping that my baby girl didnt grow a penis...,

So far out all of the wives tales, intelligender, etc, this was the only one right!

I posted in pg 35 plus- I will keep you posted! Thanks dolface- I will add you to the count!

But if you add water to baking soda I fizzes, and isn't water neutral? Just curious???

Ummm that is interesting!! I did the red cabbage test and it came out boy, wrong we are definetly having a girl! Also tried the intelligender wrong also!! I will try this and see if it is right in the am if i can get my hands on some baking soda!

No, supposedly you don't add water, sorry if TMI, you just pee a little but on the baking soda

No I know you don't use water... I am just saying water makes baking soda fizz, so any liquid should! I say try to find someone who is having a girl try and see!

I just tried it with water and NO it doesnt fizz at all!

Mine also fizzled! But of course Im anothe rwho is very early so have no idea what im having! I wish I had know this with my girls lol.

I know this is different..but they say if the placenta is located on the right in early pregnancy it's a boy...and left it's a girl...
Vaginal ultrasound is what you see...abdominal is a mirrored images (so the opposite) the study is supposedly 97% accurate or so
It was right for me (girl), my cousin (boy), and my sis in law (boy) =)

Early ultrasound**not pregnancy...placenta doesn't move I think...it just get harder to see maybe? not sure lol but the study was for early ultrasounds between 6-9 weeks preggo

OK, this thing better be wrong...because it fizzed. And I have 3 boys. I need a girl!!!

Mine was on the left also ( yolk sac ) and yes I'm having a girl! This seems to be the most accurate test I've done and has been right.....

hmmmm- I will have to ask at my sono next week- I will be 9 weeks. I am having identical twins and I can see the yolk sac on the right side of one of the twins- who is sitting on the right side- the amnio wall is on the right. The other is on the opposite side and I can not see the yolk sac so well. I will ask what they see!

Did the baking soda test this am and there was definetly nooo fizzile and I am having a girl!! Interesting;)

Hubby will be ecstatic if this is correct, I personally hope there's a flaw. LOL
