Ectopic pregnancy

Found out the pregnancy was ectopic and had surgery to remove my left tube. Turned out when my doctor did the surgery that it had ruptured. In a lot of pain now. So much so that the oxycodone they gave me is barely cutting the pain. Just thankful I'm ok and in a way I'm glad it wasn't a miscarriage.  Doctor says I should wait a few months before trying again which I have no problem with. Just waiting now for my hormones to drop and my uterus to bleed. I'm sad but I think I did most of the grieving yesterday and the day before. I'm thankful I still have my health.

I understand how you are feeling hun, I just had surgery last Wednesday for an ectopic in my left tube - I lost the tube as well.  Luckily they caught it just before it ruptured so I wasn't in too much pain.  It took about 3 days for my lining to start coming away properly and I'm still bleeding.  Hope you feel better soon xx

Sorry to hear about that dscoqn.  You have already been through so much. I finally started bleeding today.  I'm curious about how long it will take to get back to normal cycles.  When I got my BFP I was so excited to basically to never take my temp again.  Ugh.  I was so tired of it.  But I've actually already taken my temp a couple times to anticipate the bleeding.

My dh's aunt called me today and told me that her daughter's first pregnancy was ectopic and she lost her tube as well, which I did not know.  She went on to have 2 beautiful children. I think this helped me a lot.  I know that I am so extremely lucky to have my son and I think of that every time I look at him now.  All this would have been so much harder if I didn't have him.  But I am looking forward to trying to have our little girl.

I wondered about asking my doctor when I go back for my follow-up exam about checking my other tube to make sure it is clear before we try to start again.  I'm actually wondering if this ectopic had something to do with my miscarriage back in January.  Right after that miscarriage I started have some pain on that side.  When my doctor examined me for the miscarriage he found nothing but the pain was there, coming and going, ever since.  It was so mild that I basically ignored it.
