3 weeks ago my doctor switched my medication to doxy 100mg twice a day, biaxin 500 twice a day and ceftin 500 twice a day. All of my lyme symptoms came back in January, this is why I was switched to meds that are for lyme not a coinfection. With in two weeks it seems to have helped relieve a lot of my pain. I am still taking the flagyl for 3 days every month.
My husband has been taken off of bartonella treatment and put on treatment for babesia. He is currently taking zithromax 250 once a day and malarone once a day. After about a week of taking the malarone he has gotten small itchy bumps all over his back, more headaches. About 2 weeks of taking the meds he started to develop a dry cough, sounds similar to an asthmatic. These symptoms are common with babesia and it seems the medications are bringing them to the surface.
My son was taken off of his babesia treatment. His sleep issues have gotten much better. He is now taking biaxin 500 mg twice a day, amoxacillin 3 pills 2 times a day along with doxy 100 mg twice a day. These medications are for addressing lyme disease. He still has sleep issues, restless tight lower legs at times, severe light sensitivity, neck stiffness and fatigue.
