OK, first of all, I'm thankful for being on the road to recovery. It's bumpy, lots of twists and turns, but I'm trying to be hopeful. I have my post op appt with my ortho surgeon tomorrow and will get my staples out. Hallelujah! I can't wait to wash my back, or should I say, have my husband wash my back. I'm getting to the point that I'd actually like to get "dressed" and go somewhere, even if it's just to the store to do some grocery shopping. No worries, I have my trusty helper to carry the bags. My son (who's 10) has just been an angel. He waits on me hand and foot.
I miss cooking the most, and driving. Hopefully, I'll be cleared for driving in a week or so, and I can do some light cooking, just no bending over for the oven. Again, my helpers come in handy. There's part of this helplessness that I'm enjoying, because I love having my husband and child in the kitchen with me. I like them doing laundry too.
I hope 2009 holds hope, holds a renewed quality of life for me, holds love with my family, and reminds me to count my blessings each day.
