Makes you think...to all my liberal friends...

I WISH THE PICS WERE ABLE TO BE FORWARDED ALSO....IT IS JUST AS BAT AS LOUISIANA WAS!!!!

"Where are the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods?  Where is good old Michael Moore?

Why is the media NOT asking the tough questions about why the federal government hasn't solved this problem?  Asking where the FEMA trucks and trailers and food services are?

Why isn't the Federal government moving Iowa people into free hotels in Chicago and Minneapolis ?

When will Spike Lee say that the Federal government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines ?

Where are Sean Penn, Bono,  and the Dixie Chicks?

Where are all the looters stealing high-end tennis shoes, cases of beer and television sets?

When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say that he wants to rebuild a 'vanilla' Iowa .... because that's what God wants?

Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with reports of shootings at rescuers, of rapes and murder?

Where are all the people screaming that George Bush hates white, rural people?  My God, where are Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Oprah, and Harry Connick Jr?

How come in another two weeks, you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again? Where are the government bail out vouchers?  The government debit cards?

There must be one hell of a big difference between the value of the people of Iowa and value
of the the people of Louisiana.

Pass this unedited, undoctored, factual information forward..... to get Americans thinking.

I have read bits and pieces here and there.  It is a shame how they were just forgotten.   They have received some bailout money...however, much was held back and is still being held back by the GOVERNMENT.  People are living in trailers...not 5 star hotels like those from Louisiana.  Makes you wonder about equality....I guess it is just the squeeky wheels that get the oil...It is time for the silent majority to speak up.

My only comment, New Orleans is not like the REST of Louisianna.... there are some very conservative RURAL areas in Louisanna.  I think that the local Government in New Orleans was the biggest issue there...  and their Governor at the time was a wus/complainer.... you name it.  Mississippi had some serious damage with Katrina and Rita and they did pretty good as did Alabama.  We should all have strong courageous leaders, but as some have found, complaining gets you off the hook with no responsibility.  Granted we in the south aren't always the best, but some of us do try.

And I think that the midwesterners are stronger stock than some of the rest of the nation.  They've faced adversity from nature again and again, have their acts together, pull together, and rebuild.  We should applaud the people and tell big government to stay out of their way.  We should all be as able minded and community oriented as some of those folks.

I'm assuming, suz-q, that if you got that e-mail you also got the one CONTRASTING the difference between the LOOTING in LA and the NEIGHBORS helping NEIGHBORS in IA...?  The e-mail is just 2 pics, side-by-side.  The only caption is something like, "Two disasters; two very different outcomes."  YEP!  Sure is a HUGE difference between the two.

When I got the e-mail you posted in this journal, I was thinking that I wished I could post it, PICTURES AND ALL (!) in a MH forum or journal.  So glad I stopped by to wish you a Happy Mother's Day and saw this!
