Was Diagnosed with disease on Sept 25th 2013 by symptoms and gastric emptying study.  Was told it was mild although there was 27% of the radioactive eggs that I had eaten before the study was still  in my stomach after a 3 hour study.  The nurse called and said I have mild gastroparesis and to just follow a low fat diet.  She told me nothing more.  There is so much more to the diagnosis than that.  Its consists of a whole lifestyle and diet change.  I was happy for a diagnosis but devastated at the same time.  No more than 15mg of fiber, no fresh veggies, no fresh fruit except for a select few, everything else has to be pureed.  No red meet to speak of, no salad.  No more healthy food of diet.  I was very proud of my diet at this time.  Poof gone! start over!  GP diet is not a very healthy diet.  Will have to puree, juice, and take supplements that can be absorbed easily.  Liquid if possible.  Have been drinking a lot of my meals due to severe nausea, abdominal pain and distention. In my case this is not as bad as some people have it.  Some are unable to keep food down at all, some end up on a feeding tube and a few other not so nice options.  I am able to eat some regular food.  I am still in the learning stage at this point.  I weighed 168 when this started now down to 153 as of todays date 10/31/13.  Heck of a way to loose weight.  At this point food is not my friend.  Hoping this will all change soon.  :)
