Death and Taxes

Jun 03, 2009 - 2 comments

A number of years ago I got into a huge dispute with the I.R.S. over a supposedly owed very large sum of money (I assure you; they were wrong).

After years of fighting, patience, and waiting;

It is FINALLY over.

The alleged debt has been wiped clean.

So... they say there are two things you can't beat. Death, and Taxes.

I've beaten taxes. Who knows? Maybe I'll take on death next. :->

I did my happy dance for almost a full five minutes when I got word from the tax lawyer that they'd wiped the debt.

We were talking 100's of thousands of dollars here and if I lost, i was (literally) prepared to move to some third world country and live out my life as a Buddhist monk or a diamond smuggler.

It's like having a HUGE sword of Damocles that was dangling over my head suddenly removed. I was actually prepared for the possibility I was going to be locked up on charges of tax evasion. *shudder*

I'm so ecstatic over this I will even return your hugs and give a big; "Yippee!!!

Now if you'll excuse me, i feel another "happy dance" coming on. :->
