OK .. I use the scale as a tool and a marker for where I am. Have done everything I'm supposed to do .. calories in check, more exercise and I'm up a pound??? What up? Me!
While the normal initial feel is "GEEZ" .. I KNOW that when I am eating the way and should and exercising the way I should, that this additional pound represents a couple of things.
1. I am holding some extra water .. yep .. only drank 4 cups of water yesterday (working on improving this) and I was outside where it was HOT and exercising. I lost water perspiring but only replaced very little .. so .. it stands to reason my body will hold on to what it is short on.
2. My body has seen a rapid increase in my activity level while at the same time I am watching every morsel and keeping my calories in check .. no more playing around. So .. it's trying to make sure I am "ok" and that there is not something wrong that is depleting my calories and energy simultaneous. It helps when I realize the marvelous mechanisms in place to protect me!
You watch .. within a few days, of doing the same .. these extra pounds will drop off easily.
This is the part you learn as you begin looking at this as a journey .. there are ups and downs .. don't let them derail you .. continue on with your plan .. post your journal entries .. holler out for support .. and keep on keepin on ...
