omg...that fish looks almost bigger than the guy (you?) holding it....is it?? And did he (you?) catch that fish with that itty bitty rod?? I went deep sea fishing out on the Atlantic when I was 9 off the east cost in Nova Scotia and that's the limit of my exposure, getting to sit in the boat....they were catching mackerel. I don't recall them being anywhere close to that big.
Ya that's me ... the fish is called Amberjack , apx 135 lbs / caught with that itty bitty rod (very high tech carbon fiber) in about 15 min. from a depth of 220 Ft. ... the fishing technic is called extreme "Vertical Jigging" ... you can see the bait hanging there too ... a chunk of painted lead in front of the head .... nope mackerel don't get .. quite that big .. he he
I looked that up - "extreme vertical jigging". Takes a bit of talent, looks like to me. And some body strength and energy and focus. Interesting stuff, Aaron and just a little of "wow". :)
