Yes! I live in Africa. I have actually touched one. The hair is quite course. I have also seen elephants, lions, Baboons, (too often) Giraffe, Springbok, crocs, Rhino's and hippo.s etc. But these days they are all kept in reserves. Except of course for the baboons and monkeys that are too difficult to contain. The wildest thing that comes into my garden is an Ibis which is a big bird.
