You have beautiful gardens!  I saw on your mood that you got to work in your garden so I had to check out the photos.  We had a nice day yesterday - about 50 but I did not make it out to the garden  :(  Too much other stuff happening & I have no idea where the weekend went.  Glad you got to enjoy the day - I just love working in the garden - until the snakes come out  :)

Thank you Janette, I have been working on my garden for many years. We have horrible soil, no rain for months and deer walking thru it so it is quite an accomplishment for me. We have no fences cause we live on a rural golf course. I have worked really hard to find things that they won't eat and that will survive in our zone 7 garden. I used to be able to work out there for 12 hours at a time several days a week. I remember on a beautiful day about 5 years ago, looking up to the sky and thanking God for being able to work out there and wondering why he had given me the gift of time and resources to be able to do it,
Now I understand why. Since I did so much work on soil and planting before, it survives  with less work now.

This time of year we just rake the millions of oak leaves and trim all the dead foliage off of the perennials as they emerge in the spring. Then I top my beds with manure and fill in a few places and I am done by may and just enjoy it after that. It is a lot of work buy makes me happy. Now my husband does more..he used to just do the lawn! My back is thrashed from lifting and digging. Along with having ms symptoms.

What snakes do you have..do you live in the desert?

Hope you are having a good day!
