Why Do I Have to Pee Again?

Rating

A diabetes expert shares some advice.

I have to pee often. Could it be my diabetes, and can I stop it?

One of the signs of high blood sugar levels, or hyperglycemia, is frequent urination. This is because your body tries to eliminate excess blood sugar through the urine. Frequent urination may also be a sign of a urinary tract infection (UTI), which is more common among people with diabetes. Consult with your doctor and diabetes health care team to find the reason for your problem. Is it caused by high blood glucose? If the answer is yes, then take action to manage your blood glucose levels by talking to your doctor.
