A glass or two of wine before bed may help summon the sandman, but boozing before bed will actually disrupt your sleep later on in the night. Alcohol also keeps you from entering the deeper stages of sleep, leading you to wake up still feeling tired despite having dedicated a full night to sleep. Cut out alcohol within three hours of bedtime to ensure peaceful slumber.
