C-section and amnio scheduled

Well the OB's office called me today and they scheduled C-section.   They will be doing the amnio on 7/29 and then the C/S on 7/30 at 7:30pm.  (This is not cool since no food or water after 11:30 A.M ---it's much easier not to have food or water after 12:00 AM!!)    Do you think the doctor will be too tired at this time?   Heck that's a long day for him.  I think I should ask about that.  Do you think that will offend the OB?

At my last growth scan the baby was 3lbs 6oz (gained 8 ozs in 11 days).  So I'm hoping she'll pack on 10 oz in 14 days! That will put her over 4lbs. I will be estatic if she gets to be over 4lbs. For sure she'll have to be in the NICU because of her size.  I'm praying that she won't have any feeding issues.  I'm soo freaked out about the baby having to get an NG tube!   I have a feeling the fact she'll be a preemie will make breast feeding more challenging.

I suspect I will only be able to see the baby for a moment in the OR before they take her away.  I don't think they'll let me see her until the next day because they'll take her to NICU and take me to recovery room.  I don't believe they'll let her go to the recovery room.  I 'm sending DH off with the camera because I want him to take pictures of her for me.

The perinatalogist asked me if I was excited about the baby and I told him I was scared and that I hadn't even taken the things out of the packages yet.   He told me that I shouldn't be worrying and that they baby will be fine and that I should be celebrating the arrival of this baby.   So I guess with that in mind I will begin to get my baby stuff and the room ready over the weekend.  I honestly have to say that was one of my better and reassuing appts in a long time.

The perinatalogist seemed perplexed that  OB was doing this so early, but he knows my OB and says he has good judgment.  He seem suprised we weren't doing this at 37 weeks.  He also said there'd be a 50% chance that baby's lungs would be mature.

So that's the scoop with me!  Wish me luck!

Hey Yvette, I was wondering how you were doing! I was thinking about you the other day.

Glad to hear your little girl is going through a serious growth spurt!! I hope she keeps it up.

Your OB would not put you in a dangerous situation, just trust that everything will be fine.

Make sure you post plenty of pictures of your little cutie because you know we will all be waiting!!!

Good luck and Celebrate Girl!!!!
