Anyone else had a hysteroscopy?

So I had the HSG a few weeks ago, and it wasn't too bad.  They said my tubes were spasming, but didn't make a big deal about it. They did this to see my uterus, as we already are pretty sure I don't have any blockages...getting pregnant has not been my problem  Before scheduling the firoid removal she want's to do this last test (I hope its the last anyway..lol).  I am not sure if I spelled hysteroscopy right, but essentially they are inserting a camera into my uterus.  I have to take a drug (vaginlly) the night before to soften and dialate the cervix a bit, then away we go.  You all know I am a big baby at the best of times, but this sounds awful!  It sounds like it's going to hurt, and I don't understand what this will tell that the HSG didn't.  Any ideas?  As always, thanks for the info!

Thanks again all.  I am still freaked out about this, but I know it will be worth it in the end.  And they keep telling me its the end of all these tests. Debbie, they are also cutting around the belly button, thank you for telling me it wasn't too bad!!!  Miranda, it is tomorrow at 1 mountain time, so 3 pm in TO.

Debbie, that is so weird...I am on the phone to the US fairly often, but I will resend.  Why is Gavin having surgery??  Of course you know I will keep him in my prayers...sending you a pm honey.

Thanks for all the good wishes...like I said, I am just a big baby!!!

Hello Girl!

I tried to call you the other night and got the same message, maybe it's my phone service.

I had two hysteroscopy done.  It shows way more then an HSG test does.  It goes into detail a lot more.  They filled my uterus with a gas to be able to see better.  That is when he found that I had the septic uterus and he removed it when he was in there.  They cut me right above my belly button to insert the camera.  I was a little tender there afterwards, not a big deal.  When are you having this done?  I will say a prayer for you.  Chat with you later.  Gavin is having a small surgery on Friday, please say a prayer for him as well.

Love Ya,
Debbie

I had one and they filled my uterus with water for the best picture. And a big bag is put under you to catch the water on the way out. Sorry if that is TMI. That was after a MC though so I am not sure it is is always that way. It did not hurt, but it was unpleasant, a bit of pressure. The best part is when you know they have seen it all and rule stuff out. Good luck.

Dear Amanda,
Tell me the date and time and whatever I'm doing I'll stop so that I can visualize holding your hand.

I believe in that kind of energy!

I didn't know there weren't many of them in Canada!  I know it's itty bitty, and they are giving me a sedative...they actually do the procedure itself in the minor OR.  I know, how about all of you come in with me and hold my hand!!!!  I am not looking forward to this, except that it's supposed to be the last of it.

I'm not sure what the camera can show that the HSG didn't...my specialist last week was so happy that the clinic just got a camera, one of the few in Canada.  He said it offers a 3D view that a normal u/s couldn't show.

IT can't be worse than the balloons.  It must be an itty bitty camera.  Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I had a hysteroscopy before my last cycle.  It was absolutely fine, just checked to make sure nothing would prevent implantation.  I felt some cramping but that's all.  Didn't have to take any drugs.

You'll be fine.
Lots of luck

I don't know anything about a hysteroscopy, I just wanted to chime in and wish you a speedy and uneventful outcome with this procedure.  I hope it's not too uncomfortable for you. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of the end to clear the way for you to start TTC again, without worry or obstacles.   I'll be thinking about ya!  XO  Pam
