Possible Miscarriage..Possible Pregnancy

Hello, this is my first time posting.
I'm hoping to gain some insight into what happened with my period (or whatever it was) last month and what's going on with my body today.
Background - started trying for baby #2 in Jun. Got preg right away and then miscarried at 9 1/2 weeks (Aug). Waited 1 cycle and then tried again last month.
Question 1 - My doctor is telling me that last month what I experienced was just my period. 8 day past ovulation I started have what I thought was implantation spotting (I had this with first preg). The spotting got progressively worse until I started what my doctors calls 'my period'. This did actually start the day I was supposed to get my period but it was heavy with clots. I'm the kinda person who has a very light cycle. Other symptoms were deep sleep and big bbs. Has anyone ever experience this? I'm just CONVINCED it was not my period. These type of symptoms have only happened 2 times before and both I was preg.
Question 2 - I am 7 dpo. I have no symptoms except I have started getting extra CM. Is this a sign of possible preg?
OK one more question. - I am scare (as I'm sure others are) that my miscarriage was a sign of bad eggs (I'm 35). I fear that if I do get preg something might be genetically wrong with the baby. After the D&C the doc sent the tissue out for pathology and said all test came back fine. Does anyone know exactly what they test for?
Thanks for any insight. I feel like I'm pretty knowledgeable about this stuff but.....

Hi There. so- to follow up, I did get my period last friday. Not entirely surprised as I didn't have strong symptoms. In fact, it was the most normal cycle I have had since the m/c. That is a good sign I think. Hopefully my body is getting back to normal and this month will be THE MONTH.
Keep your fingers crossed for me! Happy Holidays :-)

I will ask my Dr. about the testing. He just a very matter of fact guy...you know. He's good for me that he doesn't let me get too carried away. In regard to last month though.. I just can't believe that it was just a period. It was too strange...too different.
I guess we never think we are going to be in these situations. My period is due Friday or Saturday. I'm a 31 - 32 day cycle person. I've started getting headaches today. Dull, nothing major. But there is a flu going around out here. I'm not going to read anything into any of my possible symptoms.
I'll keep you posted. Thanks for responding :-)

I don't know what they test for but def ask your dr. I can tell you last month may have been a chemical pg which means you get a pos hpt but the baby never attatches and go on to become a fetus. Don't forget your body may still be recovering from the m/c. My dr told me to wait 3 cycles before ttc I chose not to but I did notice  a change in my period after having a m/c. Alot of cm is a sign of pg when is your period due? Good luck I hope this helps....Let me know what happens. Lots of baby dust to you!!
