Tex was the love of my life. Tex died 4 years ago at the age of 28 years old. This boy stood 16' 2 HH, and weighed 1450lbs in his day when we would run barrels, & track steer. He was an ALL around horse who could do anything, a complete gentleman who so just tolerated me, but still remained my partner for many years. What a wonderful horse, what a fabulous teacher ! Will see you again Tex :)
WOW....Tex sure was a big guy, eh? *smile* And handsome! My best friend has a horse and lost one about 4 years ago also. It was a very difficult time for her, to say the least. She told me that there were a few times, she swears that she heard her horse whinnying outside...I do not doubt her for a second...and yes, I too believe we will be reunited with all our pets that we have loved and lost...
Oh Star, this boy was my lover. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart. He would do anything I asked him to. I can remember so many times me grooming him and fixin' him up for the Christmas parades. I would put his red blanket on and bells, and tinsel and bow. And top him out with either antlers or a Santa hat. He would just stand there and sighhhh.... while I was getting him ready as like I said he would just tolerate me. Then the time would come and we would be off in the parade and that big giant dude would just PRANCE, in what I would call the "TEXAS SHUFFLE" You talk about a looker, he was so proud, and he would make you so proud, he was just gorgeous. Good Lord , I miss him so much. I could tell you stories about him that would take months. I loved him sooooo much xoxoxo
