Now that's are beautiful bird.  I've never seen one with this color pattern before.  Are they around the east coast at all?  Just curious.  Very nice.  I love hawks.
Owls too.  My favorite is the Great Horned Owl.  We have one that hangs out in the pines where we hunt for deer.  I love watching him sometimes.  They all just amaze me with there grace, strength and/or  beauty.

We have a lot of those here in Tn.  The Chattanooga Nature Center has several that were not considered releaseable because the wing didn't set right.  Apparently they are prone to getting hit by cars.  How does that happen?  I see them in open grassy areas a lot, but I don't see them just sitting in the road.

I would love to be able to do the kind of work you do, just to be near these beautiful creatures everyday. I was on my way home from an errand today and saw about 5 hawks of some kind chasing a bunch of pigeons and some other migrating birds. The sky was swirling with wings, it was amazing. I thought of Donna and parked the car so I could take an extra long look at the sight of them. I live off a parkway that was built as a bird sanctuary, it runs through the county in length. They left an abundance of trees and wildlife areas that are larger the more north it goes, and I've found some birds that have tired during migration and just need a rest. I took a wren home once and let him have some r and r and then let him go where I found him the next day, he took off like a bat of out hell. I always wondered if he was able to catch up with his flock.
