Hi, how u doing? Thanku for saying I'm proof that beauty comes from within..thats really sweet but..so are you! and the model compliment.. lol that was very generous!..thanku. I don't think you are all that different to me. U are very kind hearted and thats all I look for in people, and u have qualities that I aspire to have.. I wish I had the determination and motivation you have, the positivity, and I wish I could write the way you do! U write beautifully!
I definitely go through body image issues like u too. Hate it. Its like a never ending strive to something that is and always will be unattainable. Sometimes I just think why bother!? But when we look our best we feel our best. Ur right its so hard to FEEL it but I know it intellectually.
Wow I love ur quotes. They are so true and profound I got goose bumps when I read them lol. Thank you for sending them to me. When I get depressed from my thyroid issues or feel ugly I will read them to remind myself what really matters in life.

Cant believe u were up so early..or late? 4:15? Was that just after a work shift?
Well I hope ur putting urself out there more cos u have ALOT to give. Take care Diva

Thank you, Ally.

I'm often up late at night (or early in the morning, depending on your perspective). I haven't slept well for years, but it's been worse recently as I'm living at my sister's temporarily while caring for my elderly Dad who lives with her. Her husband leaves the TV on all night, & my Dad (who is hard of hearing---really, practically deaf) leaves his radio on all night. And both snore like train locomotives! Plus, just worrying about Dad & having to get up every couple of hours to check on him (he's been having low blood sugar reactions that leave him unconscious & would lead to death if not discovered & treated promptly) has turned me into more of a "night owl" than ever!

I'm not working at the moment. I had left my ER job for one that I thought would be less stressful (& given my father's failing health, NEEDED less stress). Unfortunately, the "new" job turned out to be even more stressful & demanded 16-20 hour shifts while being paid for only 8. So, when my 40 year old brother died in March & my father was facing surgery to remove a cancerous kidney, I left work & have spent the summer caring for Dad. I am single & have a mortgage, though, & my savings are dwindling so I will have to find work soon. There are few jobs available at the moment (& many times employers prefer to hire a younger person rather than a 51 year old), plus my Dad really isn't ready to be left alone yet. Another cause of my worry & insomnia.

I saw your question about PVCs & replied to it. I'm not an expert in thyroid disease AT ALL. But I did work in ICU &the ER for many years & dealt with a lot of patients with PVCs. I hope you find the info I left helpful. I think understanding that your PVCs likely aren't indicators of serious heart disease is important 'cause how can you decrease your anxiety when you're worrying about your heart!?! It is often "trial & error" trying to get the right dose of thyroid medicines for an individual; sometimes more difficult in a young person like you since you have all those female hormone shifts affecting you, too. Just keep your doctor well informed about your symptoms & discuss your fears honestly & openly. If your doctor isn't responsive, find another one. And if your symptoms worsen, make sure your doctor knows so you can discuss whether doing a cardiac ultrasound (also called a cardiac echo or sonogram) to prove there is nothing structurally in your heart that is causing the PVCs would be helpful. (continued) I don't know how insurance in Australia works. In America, the doctor has to prove to the insurance company that there is a medical reason to justify every test. Since you are young and healthy (other than the thyroid condition, I assume), the American system may not approve the cardiac echo. BUT, if your symptoms increase or are so problematic that they interfere with work, daily activity, etc., it may be worth asking just to ease your mind/reduce your worry.

Well, must go---time to make Dad's lunch before his blood sugar drops.

I'm glad you are taking back your life, Ally. You deserve to enjoy it! Be your own health advocate and get the answers and care you need!
