She goes in and out- she likes to stay in when it's cold and out when it's nice. They aren't allowed outside after we go to bed- we shut the kitty door. There is a raccoon and opossum that like to hang around and a couple of other random cats. The raccoon brought her family in one night and since then the door stays shut overnight.
