oh that is fascinating ,.i love Indians i used to tell my mark all about them when he was little ,.....when he grew up he got a beautiful tattoo of a chief on his arm ,........i would tell him all about how the soldiers took there land and killed them ,....he was so interested in them ,.........before he died he asked me would i get him an other Indian tattoo for his birthday ,........i said i would thats no prob ,.........but he never lived to get it after ,..........you have brought back memories to me ,.....bu good ones ,...who would have thought back then i would be writing you ,been so close to them ,.....
Swampy - I wondered about that too. That's part of the reason I uploaded the picture; the information given seemed inaccurate and I've even wondered if the picture is authentic. Even his "real" name, which wasn't Geronimo, is different from other Apache stories I've read and/or heard.
Later in his life Geronimo was a celebrity and toured the country letting people take his picture.
Its an interesting point that although he fought against the US, the US had a tradition of honoring warriors. When the battle is concluded, warriors are no longer enemies.
