I have the wing from a wild turkey, feathers included, that was a present from an Elder. The domestic turkeys can be quite dumb but the wild ones are sometimes referred to as, "grounded eagles" - powerful and intelligent.
HA Ha ! Thank you Lonewolf !! This, I shall never forget !! "Grounded Eagles" is a perfect description of these magnificent birds !! This is an easy one, but, which US President wanted these birds as our national symbol instead of the Bald Eagle. ?
Opps .. He was not a President..sorry, let me rephrase "What Founding Father wanted The Wild Turkey as a national symbol ?" P.S. Wild Turkey's are powerful fliers, despite their clumsy appearance, and can fly as fast as 55 mph through the tree tops !!
