Hi.....have they mentioned a condition called Basilar invagntion? BI for short?

It appears you may have that ..

anad I would ask for the OR report to see how much bone was removed.....could be cerebral ptosis.....that could be why you have another  herniation.....JMHO

I haven't heard of either of those things. Thanks for the Google terms. ;)  I see my neurosurgeon Tuesday and I'm terrified of whatever is going on. THATS another thing. His PA thought he removed my tonsils.  I'm really hoping he didn't and that's not my cerebellum.

It looks like he may have removed the tonsils...it is not the tonsils that look herniated.

I am so anxious, because that's what I thought too ... but I'm still hoping it's not my cerebellum.  I'll definitely let you know what I find out Tuesday.  I AM seeing a chiari specialist.  Dr Dong Kim in Houston, Tx.  I've really liked him and his staff.  But now I'm just scared.  I will say that MRIs have been a big issue since surgery because I'm almost 100% reliant on a pacemaker and there has to be a nurse / medtronic rep / crash cart and all the insurance approvals for all those things  .... all sorts of crap to get one.  I finally got one and now this.

Thanks again for your insight!

Are you on Facebook? You should add The whole truth nothing but the truth so help my brain tail. So many in there can help you. I've never heard of your NS. Is he or she considered a specialist?
