I am currently experiencing all the symptoms of having Cushing's, but have not yet been diagnosed. I had to push for the doctors to believe that all the weight I had gained was not due to a bad diet. Eventually they did a test for Cushing's that was about 15 months ago, and it came back negative. Instead they told me my symptoms were due to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. But this would not explain the fatty lump I have developed at the back of my neck.
I have problems sleeping and my periods stopped for a year, now that my GP has prescribed the mini pill, I only bleed when I miss taking my pill for one or two days.
Last December, I had an ultrasound scan which showed no abnormalities of my ovaries, so that leads me back to thinking it may be Cushing's.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone out there who is going through the same nightmare, or who has already been there!
