I agree with compnet to check out the diet. A high sugar diet can make kids hyper. Also consider that some children have a high energy level. Find suitable outlets for it.
Have you looked into diet (too much sugar, too few veggies, etc)?
Natural (ex. fish oil omegas)?
Behavior (gossip, yelling, swearing or disrespect in the home; lack of love/affection; poor discipline; physical punishments; emotions not talked about; right/wrong not praised or corrected; etc.)?
Not enough exercise?
At age three, he is at an early developmental stage. Diagnoses of ADD/ADHD are not made by conscientious doctors for children under the age of six. The medication he is being given can have dangerous side effects.
His pediatrican. I called around to a few other peds today and talked to their nurses and they said that it was ok. He has hoosier health so I couldnt get a second option on the med cause you have to have a refural. I played with him outside today for a little over 2 hours and he seemed to act good. That spacyness is gone now.
Who put him on the medication ?
I thought the sam thing he is 3 and 4months. He honestly drives me crazy. I cant get anything done cause he wont sit still for me to breath. But Ill tell you what. I have been a mess all day cause he is so moopy.
I would talk to your Dr. It could just be a phase. My children were put on medication at the ages of 4 but they were diagnosed with ADHD... 3 Seem's a little too young to me...
