Your son sounds like he has more than ADHD. I believe that he has the social and speech disabilities associated with the Autism Spectrum. You should obtain a formal evaluation by a child development pediatrician or by a child psychologist/psychiatrist. He might have ADD/ADHD but that does not explain is lack of speech. If he has ADD, medication for ADD might help him so that he can focus to learn language and social skills. Most doctors and most people do not believe in giving ADD medication to a child as young as yours. But at the end of the day, the decision to medicate him is between you and your specialist doctor. You need to look at the pros and cons of medication. You first need to obtain an evaluation as I mentioned even if you need to come to the USA. The evaluation will cost about $2000 to $4000 depending where you obtain it. I do not think that you live in the USA but you might consider coming to the MIND Institute at UC Davis in California for a full evaluation if you have the monetary resources. They are the state of the art in the medical field of autism and such development disorders. There are many other institutions in England and USA that can do the evaluation. Good luck and God bless you.
there are other reasons why children don't learn or talk.
Look up laudow kleffner syndrome .and like Melissa0116 said talk to doctor about him also sending you to some one to work with him .
Your Son is way too young to be diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. He is not developed enough to even be able to focus on concentrate on anything.
As far as not being able to speak yet, my cousins little boy was 3 and he never spoke so she took him to a doctor and he sent him to a speech therapist. He now is 4 1/2 and never stops talking. So, check with the doctor regarding this and he can refer you to a specialist.
Wait until your son is 5 or 6 to see if he has ADD/ADHD. When they are as young as your son is, they just do not have the motor skills or attendance like that of a 5 year old. The meds are not approved for any child younger than 5 and some not until 6.
I would ask the doctors to send your son for an egg.
and I also wouldn't every put on medicines for add or adhd.the side effects are worse then deal what you are with right now.
Best of luck.
again, as I tell others, it's impossible to diagnose a child with ADHD. A LOT of children exhibit the exact same "symptoms" as a person with ADHD.
