In agony after Acupuncture could anyone help?

I suffer Chronic pain in my lower back(top of bum) hips and knees. My pain management Doc has referred me for Acupuncture, I had one six week course, three months ago, and I am now in my 2nd week of another 6week'er.
Obviously as I am in constant pain, I am on morphine, tramadol and Lyrica. Anyway...
When I had my previous course of Acupuncture It was good, helped slightly, and mostly did not hurt when I actually had it. Some sessions I had slight increase in pain for 24hours but nothing to unbearable, or more so than normal, If you know what I mean? My new course I have a different nurse doing the treatment. It is all performed at an NHS hospital, under the pain clinic.
I had my 2nd session this morning, so 11 hours ago. I have needles over my knee's, hips and the base of my spine. One needle today in the base of my spine really hurt and nearly made me jump of the bed. It slowly got worse and worse, and I would have asked for it to be removed but at our clinic they leave you alone till its time for the needles to come out, so in my case it was 30minutes. By the time the nurse came back in I was in bits, I couldn't move(had tried several times only making things worse) When she removed the needle I practically shrieked in pain.
Since leaving my back has got worse and worse, whenever I put any weight on the right side I get sharp shooting pains down the back of my leg. I am lying flat at the moment, but its getting intolerable now, and despite taking my pain relief it isn't easing up. And I am getting pins and needles in my lower back/top of right leg.
What could have happened?
What should I do? I don't have a great relationship with my GP, I won't be seeing my pain consultant for about 8 weeks, and I'll not be back at the acupuncture clinic for a week

I have never had luck with acupuncture. It overstimulates me and is very painful. Also, I never found it helped. Is it possible that some people are not suited to this treatment? I have had no problem with other sorts of alternative medicine, and am a strong advocate.

I am so sorry you are in so much pain.  Acupuncture for pain of this nature should be done 3 times a week for 6 to 12 weeks.  Also do to the amount of analgesics you are taking a treatments for liver toxicity are important as well.  Also in the mean time Ice daily and during extreme episodes try a heavy weight lifting belt very tight if you have to walk around. Stay off your feet when possible.

Hope this helps
