Is this group for me?

I've been clean for over 6 years. I was a hard core junkie, heroin, vics, oxy, codine, anything that was an opiate based. My question is because I have been clean is this the right group for me? I have never been part of an online group before but if others can benefit from my success I'd gladly stay a member of this group. I noticed that moist of the postings are from individuals who are currently struggling with addiction or suffering withdrawals.

The worst thing anyone can say is:"This is what you need to do in order to get clean, this is what you must do to stay clean and i know how you feel!" Then you find out they have never had an addiction! It's easier to open up and be honest and receptive to help, when it's coming from some who knows what it's like to shake, sweat and puke! You can be a benefit to anyone who has an addiction. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it is a good group for you because you have been through addiction and now recovery and you defeated your addictions and are an inspiration to others who are struggling with their addictions.  I know you can give a lot of good advice and help others I also am in recovery and I believe if I can help someone else on their road to recovery that is a very good thing
