Adrenal insufficiency

Ok seems I was confused, sorry about that. Posted in the wrong place.

Going for the cortisol test tomorrow am and pm one.
Had a test down last week which showed below normal low cortisol and something to do with my ACTH.

Can I please ask if this scenario is possible?
I go thru cycles if you will and with each cycle I feel a little worse.
So it goes like this - I feel anxious after eating, I get cramps in my tum, muscles, legs, like really intense cramps, I feel profoundly fatigued can't even open fridge door. No appetite, drink water like no tomorrow, I'm not diabetic.
Sleepy, faint well more like fading out. No strength at all. Losing weight.
Sweating cold sweats feel weird, then it blows over and leaves me feeling drained, tired but less fog, then the cycle begins all over again with no pattern to it,

Now I feel really rubbish and at one point I thought I was dying. I had an episode a few months back with severe back pain, thought I had a kidney infection but it came back clear????

I'm not well at all I hope the dr can figure this out tomorrow!

Cortisol and ACTH are quite complex. ACTH is also a very very fussy test. If not in a chilled tube and spun immediately (and frozen right after, which we cannot see...) it degrades leaving us with a lower level.

Cortisol in a normal person is highest in the morning and drops thru the day - so if you dropped in the afternoon... that is kinda normal - too bad there was no night after that.

It can take a lot of testing to figure out if there is a low cortisol issue sometimes. One test or set of tests does not work.

The salt craving is telling you that your sodium is low - so you need it. Listen to your body. I typically use sea salt as it tastes better. Try bouillon, ramen, olives, chips what ever is salty - even gatorade (less sugar though although it may not matter) and tomato juice to help.

I can understand being fed up. Been there, done that.

Not taking anything personally. Some days the boards are so active, then slow!

Sorry I didn't mean for anyone to take it personal. I understand we are all going thru this stuff together.
I am just so out of it and so not me, I am really frustrated. As I am sure most are.
Just had my day testing, get results on Monday.
Salty things are great! Considering I don't like salt or used to not like it, I'm actually putting salt on everything very unusual for me.
Cold sweats, palpitations for absolutely no reason well when I try to do something like housework.

Just plum fed up. Had heart surgery a couple of years ago, was running and cycling again albeit much less, which shouldn't be the case. Can't get back up to my normal level and it's not making any sense at all.

Told my cortisol levels were below normal low at midday so this prompted a whole bunch of testing.
If I don't feel nausea it's now unusual instead of vice versa.

After all that, I truly do hope ur surgery went well and u r recovering well or as best as u can presently. Hope you have lots of helpers so you can recuperate well.
Take good care of you. I can get answers from other if poss, so you aren't put under undue strain you don't need at this point.

Thank you for responding.

M

Board is active, but not everyone posts all the time... I only pop in once every couple days as dealing with my own health issues and I am recovering from surgery. It has nothing to do with you.

What tests have been done? How is your sodium and potassium? Do you feel better after something salty?
